Meet Tessa!
Sometimes life is just difficult. Have you ever felt overwhelmed, exhausted, and terrified of what may come next? Have you ever experienced an event that is too difficult to say out loud? Or maybe you feel as though your story isn't your own? If so, I would love to create a safe space for you.
My Story
I decided to pursue a counseling Master's degree on a whim in 2017, and it was the best decision I made. Now, I am thrilled to be the owner of Crossroads Counseling. I specialize in working with adults and adolescents who have experienced trauma using EMDR, mindfulness, and a collaborative approach. I believe that therapy can be intense, emotional, and fun. I enjoy incorporating active techniques and humor into my sessions. I am compassionate and genuine, and I can be straightforward when necessary.
I have a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Abilene Christian University (2016) and a Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy from Hardin-Simmons University (2019). I am currently pursuing my Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision, and I am excited to continue research on the therapeutic benefits of Tabletop Roleplaying Games (like Dungeons and Dragons).
