Meet Karen!

There is no one way- right or wrong- therapy for each situation or individual. What works for one person may not necessarily work for someone else. That is why I am open to trying what most benefits the client. I am is open-minded, empathetic, and caring. I make the client my top priority and genuinely love getting to know each one.

My Story

My name is Karen Martin. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor.

In 2007, I was working as a horse trainer, when I had an accident that left me paralyzed
from the waist down. After several years, I decided to go back to school to become a
counselor. I joke that a love of reality television led me to the field of mental health, but
it was actually the success I had in my own counseling journey. I absolutely love my job
and truly feel that this is what I’m supposed to be doing.

Whether it is dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, abuse, or anything else life has
thrown at you, I feel there are always options- options to living a fuller, more gratifying life. I
work with adolescents, adults, and couples. My treatments of choice include Cognitive
Behavioral Therapy, Choice/Reality Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, EMDR, and Art
Therapy. I pride myself on being open-minded, empathic, and easygoing. I genuinely
love getting to know people and brainstorming with them a game plan for feeling better.

I am accepting new clients at this time. I offer in-person and telehealth sessions.
Currently, I am unable to take insurance, so I am private pay only. However, I offer a
sliding scale, so it might be more affordable than you think. Let’s talk.
